What Do You Choose?

We all experience pain, hurt, rejection, loneliness, disappointment and the list can go on. Yet, the vast measure of all those devastating emotions combined cannot compare to the immense depths of God’s love and how He can restore and rebuild anything that is broken, lost or stolen.

There is no doubt, the tension that wrestles between lies and truth can be a fierce game of tug of war. Our minds can tend to wander and cycle down a funnel of lost hope if we aren’t quick to thrust all we are back into the beautiful promises that have been etched in stone over our lives from the beginning.

The good news is that all the agonizing heartbreak we may encounter no matter how grave the circumstance, is salvageable! There is absolutely nothing that God cannot rebuild, restore and make new once again!

Psalm 71:20 “Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth
you will again bring me up.”

In a world where failure and success are prevalent, there is an underlying fact that Jesus Blood and all He has done and given to us has liberated us from not just our shortcomings but our most significant achievements as well. No matter our weaknesses or strengths, joys or sorrows, if we will allow Him; His grace, mercy, love and redemptive work for us will come alive in our daily living and overflow to all we encounter.

My journey has caused me to reflect time and again especially in those seasons where I gave in to believing that all hope was lost; that what I thought should be, was in most cases, completely the opposite of what He had for me. Ultimately, His plan was (and is) far better than what I could have ever strategized.

Faith is confidence in God; the things hoped for yet not seen.  Trust is the commitment to remain sure of His steadfast love and goodness for us no matter what circumstances may come.

What has been in our lives should no longer define us but remind us of what He has designed us to be.  He makes all things beautiful!  As we release what we have been holding onto, for fear of comfort or heartache, He gives us peace that eminently outweighs the brightest of imaginations.

It's our choice. We either choose to let go of all the pain and surrender to Him, or we keep living in the drudgery of hopelessness. Regardless, the promise remains. The life we find in the letting go satisfies the deepest of souls.

As the scripture so eloquently states:

Psalm 1:3  They are like trees that grow beside a stream, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do. (GNB)

Friend, there is so much waiting for you on the other side of your heartache.  I encourage you to choose to let go and surrender to Him.  Though you may not see it now and though it may not end up the way you planned, you will thrive far beyond your wildest dreams!

Hope again!
