HE IS GOOD

A New Year….always brings fresh perspective and brings a bit of “let’s conquer the world” mindset. And if you are like me, many goals on the New Year’s List will get accomplished and then there are those “other things” that might just not get achieved for one reason or the other.

As I reflect back on 2013 – it has been a blessed year indeed, but honestly one I did not even see coming. Sure, we all have dreams, wishes and goals, but as Proverbs 16:9 proclaims “A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps”. I can honestly say I have learned to cling to Him in an even greater way this past year and through it all I have watched Him accomplish many things as I have chosen to trust Him as He has directed my every step along the way. I am grateful.

On the other hand, there are some aspects of life that I never thought would be and some things I thought would turn out differently. In those reflective moments, I am often reminded to trust even deeper that the Lord has me and my husband in the palm of His hand. His Word is true and He is faithful to complete His work.

Moreover, I am believing 2014 to be even greater in every way! Like many, there are plans my heart has silently hoped for, goals I have written down and dreams my husband and I hold (individually and together). Yet, for all these we wait in Hope for the Lord’s guidance, provision and favor to rest on us in each step.

Undoubtedly, for each of us, there will always be circumstances that we will have to intentionally decide to walk out in a greater faith than before. My prayer for you as the journey into 2014 begins is that the race will be run faithfully in every step. May each moment be seen as an opportunity to embrace His Presence and to learn to trust Him in a deeper way. Let it be that no matter the season of life we find ourselves in, we choose to say, “He is good”.

Rom 15:13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 136:1: Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.
